OE Exposure is a perfect blend of fruit from the six micro-vineyards planted on the mountain. The terroir is marked by the red, iron rich soils which turn the surrounding hillsides to gold as the sun moves across the land. Each of the tiny, micro-farmed plots exhibits its own unique quality, adding to the rich luxurious blend that is Oakville East-Exposure. The lovely Oakville AVA is home to many of California’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines, including Phelps Bacchus, Dalle Valle, Showket, Rudd and Screaming Eagle. In fact, in a profile of the region that appeared in the October 14, 2004 edition of the Wine Spectator, wine critic Matt Kramer writes, “…what emerges from this rocky, sun-drenched zone is like no other Cabernet in the world.”

In 2004, when we committed to making a luxury Cabernet Sauvignon wine from grapes grown in our respective vineyards, we agreed to deepen that commitment through meticulous vineyard and winery practices. Our guiding principles included organic farming methods, restricted yields, multiple cluster sorting and aging in French oak barrels. Following harvest in 2008, we strengthened that pledge with a decision to move to biodynamic farming methods in our vineyards.

Tasting notes Aromas of blue and black fruit, roasted plum, cedar and minerality. The wine has a plush fruit entry with lifted/brilliant raspberry toned mid-palate, round elegant tannins followed by a lingering finish with good structure and acid balance. The alcohol remains quietly in the background.
