Lieff Auberge Road Vineyard is located on rocky, volcanic soil on the steep eastern slopes above Rutherford. The vineyard site is composed of one two-acre and two one-half acre blocks, each of slightly different soil, exposure and geological elements. The vineyard is closely planted and hand farmed, producing 100% Cabernet Sauvignon of depth and complexity. The bottom block nestles along Rutherford Hill Road directly across from Auberge du Soleil and was planted in 1999. The upper blocks were planted in 2001. An additional two acres of Cabernet and Cabernet Franc were planted in March. The vineyard is farmed by Barbour Vineyard Management Company. Our Cabernet grapes find their heritage from clones: 337 110R, 7 110R, 7 101-14 and 337 101-14.
