Who We Are |
L'Chaim Napa Valley is a California Public Corporation. The organization is registered with the state and has filed state and federal applications for tax exempt status. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and our Fed Tax ID is # 26-155957. |
L'Chaim Napa Valley was created to ensure the continuation of The Napa Valley L'Chaim Annual Jewish Vintners Celebration and to formalize organization oversight for the purpose of establishing and administering procedures for financial management, grant making, and nonprofit compliance. |
What We Do |
The primary activity of L'Chaim Napa Valley is the planning and presentation of The Napa Valley Annual Jewish Vintners Celebration. This 3-day charitable event showcases the contributions of Jewish Vintners in the Napa Valley, realizes support for charitable organizations in the Napa Valley, and brings members of the Jewish community together in a broad-based philanthropic effort. |
| Grant Process |
L'Chaim Napa Valley makes available to any organization that meets its grant making criteria, and has expressed an interest in applying for support, an application for funding. Completed applications are reviewed by L'Chaim's grant review committee, which makes recommendations to the Board. Beneficiaries are selected prior to the actual event and are publicized on promotional literature related to the event. The grant award is accompanied by an award letter that specifies the following: 1. that the funds must be used in accordance with the specific purposes for which they were awarded; 2. have their principal office and/or activities in the Napa Valley; 3. that the organization will submit both a narrative and financial report upon completion of the program; and 4. that any unexpended funds will be returned to L'Chaim Napa Valley. |
Disbursement of Funds |
The organization goal is to disburse 80 percent of the net proceeds to 2008 grantees. The remaining 20 percent will be held in reserve to support administrative and organization expenses, particularly planning for the 2009 event. |
